I was in New Mexico at a facility there that make roof tiles that are, in reality, solar cells. An entire community was build with this new roof approach. So, when you buy the house you have solar whether you want it or not. States and Federal governments are expanding their rebate programs -- which makes the capital outlay less painful (around 15-20K).
